Working at Height & Climbing Restrictions
Safety guidance regarding climbing, elevated areas and structures at the Centre.

1 Policy statement
Activities involving height present additional risk and must be controlled appropriately. The Centre operates in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
2 General restrictions
Visitors must not climb on buildings, roofs, walls or other elevated structures unless participating in a supervised activity specifically designed for that purpose.
3 Trees and structures
Climbing trees, fences, trailers, skips, canoes or other equipment stored on site is not permitted.
4 Supervised activities
Activities involving height may only take place when delivered by trained staff or instructors and when appropriate safety measures and supervision are in place.
5 Unsafe behaviour
Unsafe behaviour may result in restrictions on activities or removal from the site if the safety of participants or others is compromised.
