Leaders

Before starting the course

Encourage teams to navigate using the checkpoints and directions rather than simply following others.
Run the course individually, in pairs or in teams depending on age, confidence and supervision.
You can keep this as a steady navigation activity or turn it into a timed challenge.

Leader note

Use leader judgement on the day

This is a practical site-based orienteering activity rather than a formal competition course. Adjust how it runs to suit supervision, weather, ground conditions and the age of your group.
