Terms & Conditions

Booking terms and conditions for all residential and campsite stays at the Centre.

1 Provisional bookings

Provisional bookings that the centre has accepted by telephone, email or in person will be held for 3 weeks of the initial enquiry date.

Bookings are only deemed to be confirmed upon completion of registration via the online Booking Portal at www.bb-northwest.org.uk/centre and receipt of required deposit. The receipt of the deposit is recognized as contractual agreement by the group of the centre’s terms and conditions. Dates will be released if non receipt of booking form or deposit. All deposit payments are non-refundable.

Groups or Individuals that make any payments by BACS or Cheque must allow the centre time to confirm payment before receipt is issued. For final payments, proof of payment must be presented no later than the booking commencement date. The centre does not accept card payments.

2 Cancellations

Any Cancellation of a confirmed booking will involve the loss of any non refundable deposits made in relation to said booking.

Unless cancellation is required due to Government regulations or restrictions, the following charges apply in relation to the final payment:

  • within two months of the booking commencement date a fee of 50%
  • within two weeks of the booking commencement date a fee of 100%
3 Arrival & departure times

Residential buildings will only be available to groups for arrival and must be vacated by as per the following table depending on the type of booking.

Campers must only pitch in areas designated by the warden on site. Camp Kitchen and Grounds will not be available until 1pm and must be vacated by 12pm on the day of departure. Any adjustment to these timings must be agreed prior to arriving with the onsite warden.

4 Insurance & qualifications

The Centre is covered for Public Liability and Employer's Liability.

All Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association groups must notify Boys’ Brigade headquarters that you are holding a camp or/and residential and any hazardous activities being included in your program. An officer or leader leading a camp or residential for any duration involving at least one overnight stay and for any age group must hold a valid and up to date camp and holiday leadership qualification.

Non–Boys’ Brigade groups are recommended to hold appropriate insurance for all personnel, property, personal belongings, and cancellations. As well as for any activities including hazardous sports. A valid and up to date equivalent to a Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association camp and holiday leadership qualification must exist.

5 Responsibility & damage

The person in charge of the group will be held responsible for the safety, wellbeing, behaviour and property of the group.

The centre cannot accept liability for any damage incurred to any property or personal belongings a group brings to the site whether accidental or deliberate. Groups are advised not to bring personal items of large value. Any lost property left behind requiring postage can be returned providing cost of postage is paid for by the group.

All buildings and grounds to be always kept clean and tidy. Any damages or breakages must be reported to the warden on site. The group or individuals may be called upon to reimburse the centre the cost of repair or replacement.

6 Fire & emergencies

All leaders must be aware of all Fire Exits, Fire Fighting Equipment and Fire Warning Points. They must ensure their group is aware of the correct procedure in the case of a fire and where the assembly point for their group is. Any fire exits and exit routes to be always clear of any obstructions.

In the event of any emergency incident once appropriate action has been taken to ensure the groups safety the warden on site must be informed of the occurrence once it is safe to do so.

7 Alcohol, drugs, first aid

No Alcohol or Drugs are allowed on Site unless medically prescribed. Smoking and Vaping is only permitted in the smoking area designated on site.

All prescribed medications brought on site are the responsibility of the group leader or designated first aider to ensure appropriate storage and administration.

It is the responsibility of the group leader to ensure that adequate first aid facilities are provided for their group. Information for local GP Surgeries, Hospitals, Dentists can be found in the Information Brochure.

8 Trespassing

Any persons found trespassing on the adjacent railway property will be sent off the site immediately.

9 Safeguarding

Our safeguarding policy is clear that all adults staying overnight or who may have contact or unsupervised access to young persons and vulnerable adults must have a valid and up to date enhanced disclosure. It is the responsibility of the person making booking to ensure this requirement is adhered to.

10 Noise

When campers are on site, residential groups must not disturb them between 11.00pm and 8.00 am. There is to be no outdoor activities or music after 11.30pm.

11 Cleaning & conduct

Prior to departure Leaders and groups are responsible for ensuring all accommodation, public areas and or camping grounds used are cleaned and returned to the state found upon arrival.

All groups must respect the authority of the Site Warden and allow them in a manner concurrent with the wishes of the Centres’ Trustees and Management Committee to resolve any disorderly conduct or breaches of the Terms of Hire that arise on the site.

12 Supervision & games

The group must be supervised by leaders when using the Sports Hall, the Adventure Playground and the Tunnel System. Those aged 16 and under must not be left unattended on site.

All ball games to be played on the sports field and in the sports hall only. Not in proximity to the residential accommodation buildings.
