A practical base for longer youth camps, allowing leaders to establish a consistent layout and run a full programme from a dedicated camp kitchen.

On the ground

How the campsite works in practice

A clear, structured outdoor base — everything in the right place from arrival to departure.

  • Layout: Tents pitch on one side of the field — the other half stays clear for games and activities.
  • Camp kitchen: Your group has exclusive access to the kitchen and covered dining area for the duration of your stay.
  • Outdoor toilets: Located beside the kitchen for easy evening access.
  • Showers: The sports hall provides male and female wash and shower blocks.
  • Vehicles: Onto the field for loading and unloading only — car park used for the rest of the stay.
  • Advanced parties: Welcome to set up on site in advance, by arrangement with the Warden.
  • Water: Available from the camp kitchen for campers throughout the stay.

  • Camp kitchen: Industrial gas oven with 6 hobs, gas grill, sinks, prep table and fridge freezer.
  • Electric points: Two free 13A sockets — one near the Warden's house, one by the worship area.
  • Sports hall & activities: Showers, sports field, climbing wall and trim trail included during your stay.
  • Fire option: Raised fire pits only. Centre fire pit available to hire — fire buckets and extinguishers provided.
  • Optional BBQ hire: A gas BBQ can be added to your booking on request.
  • Optional tent hire: Subject to availability — include your requirements in your enquiry.

Bring your school to the campsite and Stedfast Lodge

From curriculum linked outdoor education to residential stays, the campsite and Stedfast Lodge work brilliantly together.

The site gives schools a flexible indoor /outdoor base for fieldwork,

team building and adventure activities.

Programmes for schools are developed in conjunction with Dan Wright Adventures. Pricing is agreed on a bespoke basis

Frequently asked questions

Is the campsite exclusive during our stay?
Yes — one youth group at a time. The field, kitchen and dining area are entirely yours for the duration of your booking.
How many tents can we pitch?
Up to 30 tents on the field. Half the field must remain clear for shared activities.
Where are the showers and indoor toilets?
In the sports hall — separate male and female blocks, each with two showers. Outdoor toilets are also located beside the camp kitchen.
Can we have a campfire?
Raised fire pits only — no ground fires. A centre fire pit can be hired. Fire buckets and extinguishers are provided.
Fire pit risk assessment
Can vehicles come onto the field?
Loading and unloading only. The car park is used for the rest of the stay.
Can we hire tents?
Tent hire is subject to availability. Include your numbers and preferred layout in your enquiry, along with details of staff available to help erect canvas.
