Schools

The kitchen as a teaching space

The lodge kitchen is fully equipped for group cooking sessions. Whether it's a food tech day, a cooking class or just giving pupils the experience of preparing a meal together, the layout works. Everything stays on one floor and in one building, so leaders aren't managing movement across a site.

  • Hands-on cooking sessions with a fully equipped kitchen
  • Single storey with ramp access throughout
  • Risk assessments available in advance
  • Day visits or overnight residentials both work well

All school packages are developed in conjunction with Dan Wright Adventures with pricing set on a bespoke basis

Other options

Not just Steadfast Lodge

Depending on your group size and what you're planning, there are a few ways to use the site.

  • Steadfast Lodge and Campsite a popular combination for larger groups who want lodge comfort alongside outdoor camping
  • Centenary Hall sleeps up to 49, better suited to larger youth groups, school trips and sports training weekends
  • Whole site hire combines Steadfast Lodge and Centenary Hall for up to 67 guests

Frequently asked questions

How is the sleeping arranged?
The lodge sleeps up to 18 guests across 4 bedrooms — two twin rooms (one with wash basin), one four-bed room and a ten-bed dorm room.
Is the lodge exclusively ours during our stay?
Yes. Steadfast Lodge is booked for one group at a time — the building and facilities are exclusively yours. The Sports Barn, Sports Field and Trim Trail are shared with other site users.
Do we need to bring bedding?
Bedding is provided (sheets, duvets, pillows and covers). Blankets are available on request.
What equipment is included for training sessions?
A projector/screen and whiteboards are available, plus flexible table and chair set-ups and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Is the building accessible?
Yes — Steadfast Lodge is a single-storey building with ramp access and accessible bathroom facilities.
Is Steadfast suitable for smaller groups?
Yes. The lodge is designed for groups of up to 18 — ideal for leadership teams, youth weekends and school residentials that don't need a larger dormitory-style venue.
How do leaders manage bed allocations?

Is there a building plan available?
Yes — the Building Plan page shows the full lodge layout, room by room.
